PAC-10 NOTES

NCAA 25th ANNIVERSARY TEAM - In celebrating 25 years of women's championships, the NCAA polled the public for the selection of the 25th Anniversary Team. Three former Pac-10 student-athletes were selected. Here's the team: Deitre Collins, Hawaii; Elaina Oden, Pacific; Daniell Scott, Long Beach State; Logan Tom, STANFORD; Kerri Walsh, STANFORD; Natalie Williams, UCLA; and coach Dave Shoji, Hawaii.

ARIZONA - A couple of Wildcats are close to reaching 1,000 career kills. Senior MB Bre Ladd needs seven kills to reach 1,000 kills for her career, while senior OH Jennifer Abernathy needs 29 kills to reach 1,000 kills ... With 1,816 career kills, senior OH Kim Glass needs 44 kills to become Arizona's all-time leader, passing former Wildcat Barb Bell (1,859 from 1993-96) ... Glass tallied 22 kills and 20 digs vs. USC. It's the first 20/20 performance by a Pac-10 student-athlete this season ... Arizona will take on its fifth straight ranked opponent when it faces Washington Thursday night. The Wildcats have won three of their last four matches.

ARIZONA STATE - Junior OH Nicole Morton tallied 15 kills and 12 digs in the loss at UCLA. It was her fourth double-double of the season. For the weekend, Morton posted 32 kills (4.57 kpg) ... Senior S Giovana Melo recorded a career-high 19 digs against UCLA ... Sophomore L Sydney Donahue had 26 digs vs. USC, and added 24 digs vs. UCLA to average 7.14 dpg over the last two matches. She's posted 20 or more digs in 10 matches this season ... The Sun Devils need to go 3-6 in the second half of league action to avoid their lowest ever season win total in league play. ASU has finished 4-14 four times.

CALIFORNIA - Senior OH Jenna Brown needs 22 kills to reach 1,000 career kills. When she accomplishes that feat, she'll be the fifth player in Cal history to record 1,000 kills/1,000 digs. She's two kills away from being 10th on Cal's career kills list ... Junior L Jillian Davis is now 10th on the career dig list (1,025) behind Brown ... Sophomore OH Angie Pressey posted 22 kills vs. Stanford. It marks the fourth match this season that she has collected 20 or more kills. She's reached double-digit kills in 16 of 18 matches.

OREGON - The Ducks snapped a 23-match conference losing streak with a three-game sweep over Washington State. It was the first home win in Pac-10 play since Oregon defeated Washington in Eugene on Nov. 9, 2000 ... Oregon has been one of the top serving teams in the conference, but were held without an ace for the first time this season in the loss to Washington. The Ducks bounced back against Washington State, serving up 11 aces, including a match-high five aces by Kelly Russell.

OREGON STATE - Senior OH Karah Rhoades was impressive in OSU's win over Washington State, posting 17 kills, 10 digs, four blocks and three aces ... Senior OH Katelyn Healy hit .450 in collecting 11 kills against Washington. She's just the third player this season that the Huskies have allowed to hit better than .450 and collect 10 or more kills in the process.

STANFORD - Freshman OH Cynthia Barboza suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee in the match at California and is out for the season. Barboza leads all Pac-10 freshmen with 297 kills ... Senior L Courtney Schultz needs 36 digs to reach 1,000 career digs ... Sophomore S Bryn Kehoe is on pace to set a Stanford single-season record by averaging 14.38 assists per game. That would also place her among the top 10 single-season performances in Pac-10 history.

UCLA - Freshman OH Kaitlin Sather posted 20 kills against Arizona and followed that with 21 kills against Arizona State, averaging 5.13 kills per game for the weekend. It's the second time this season that Sather has tallied 20 or more kills in back-to-back matches ... Freshman OH Jordan Smith collected 55 digs (6.88 dpg) in the two matches last weekend. She posted a career-best 32 digs in the win over Arizona State ... Head coach Andy Banachowski now needs five wins for 1,000 on his career. His career record stands at 995-262 (.792).

USC - The Women of Troy have won six of their last seven matches ... Senior OH Staci Venski posted 20 kills vs. Arizona State and 22 kills vs. Arizona, averaging 6.00 kills per game in the victories. Venski was one of three Pac-10 players (Arizona's Glass and UCLA's Sather) to post back-to-back 20 kill matches last weekend ... Venski is hitting .349 over the last six matches, collecting 101 kills in 229 attempts with just 21 errors ... Junior L Debora Seilhamer tallied 57 digs (8.14 dpg) last weekend, pushing her career total to 1,036 digs - 10th all-time at USC ... The Women of Troy join Arizona and Washington as the only league teams to remain undefeated at home this season.

WASHINGTON - With a pair of victories last weekend, coach Jim McLaughlin reached 100 victories at the helm of the Huskies ... In wins over Oregon and Oregon State, the Huskies combined to hit .431 in the two matches ... Sophomore MB Alesha Deesing, the Pac-10 leader in hitting percentage at .466, hit .621 with 21 kills (3.50 kpg) in 29 attempts with just three errors in a pair of sweeps over the Oregon schools.

WASHINGTON STATE - Junior MB Jen Barcus tallied 25 kills (3.57 kpg) and seven blocks (1.00 bpg) in a pair of losses at the Oregon schools ... Freshman L Jalen Pendon has 360 digs on the year. She needs eight digs to move into 10th on the school's single-season list ... Senior MB Te'Ara Epps posted a season-high 10 total blocks against Oregon. She had 12 blocks on the weekend, averaging 1.71 blocks per game. In Pac-10 matches only, Epps is tied for third in the league, averaging 1.50 blocks per game.
