WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Oregon State sophomore forward Whitney Goodell has been named the Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 18-24, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
The Concord, Calif., native was superb in Oregon State's 4-2 Civil War victory over Oregon last Friday, scoring two goals in less than three minutes after entering the game. She scored OSU's second and third goals of the game and was credited with the game-winner.
Goodell doubled her season and career goal totals, as she entered the game with two goals in 2005. Her four goals this season are currently second on the team. Additionally, Goodell has recorded her four goals on just seven shots this year. She has played in 13 games and started one, and has also logged two game-winning goals.
Oregon State (2-2-1, 9-5-1), travels to the Washington schools this weekend as Conference play continues.
