Men's Tennis Hosts 11th Annual Thunderbird Tournament

TEMPE, Ariz. -

The Arizona State men's tennis program will host the 11th annual Thunderbirds Collegiate Tennis Invitational, Friday, October 28th through Sunday October 30th. The event will be held at the Whiteman Tennis Center, and admission is free to the public.
        The tournament will showcase some of the most competitive collegiate tennis players from around the country. The participating schools are Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Loyola Marymount, New Mexico State, and Northern Arizona.
        The format for the singles draw features a 16-player single elimination draw with consolation play for first-round losers. Doubles play will also be featured in the three-day tournament. The doubles main draw begins at 9:00 a.m. Friday morning, immediately followed by first round singles action.
        The tournament is sponsored by the Phoenix Thunderbirds, who promote the city of Phoenix by sponsoring athletic events and providing financial assistants to amateur athletes and youth oriented charities.
        Arizona State will have six student-athletes participating in this year's tournament, and will have three tandems in the doubles draw. For more information, log on to
