Nov. 1, 2005
Stanford, Ca - Sophomore starting setter Bryn Kehoe, who has helped lead Stanford to a 50-9 record the last two seasons including an NCAA title last year, broke her right hand diving for a ball during practice on Monday afternoon and will be out of action indefinitely.
Kehoe was well on her way to breaking her own school record for single season assists this year. Kehoe, an All-American candidate, was averaging 14.30 assists per game (#2 in the Pac-10, 1,101 assists), far ahead of her school record pace of 12.40 apg (1,637 assists) set last year. Her 2,378 career assists is fifth-best in school history. Kehoe also leads the team in service aces (0.47 apg, #3 in the Pac-10).
The Cardinal, 20-3 overall and 9-2 in the Pac-10, travels to second-ranked and unbeaten Washington on Thursday, and then to Washington State on Friday.
