Kelly Husted Leads The Field At Kent Youel Invitational

Kapolei, Hi. - Led by senior Kelly Husted's outstanding play on the first day of competition at the Kent Youel Invitational, the Stanford women's golf team shot rounds of 301 and 296 to sit in second place overall with a 597. Southern California leads the field with a 588, followed by the Cardinal (597), California (603), Baylor (603) and Long Beach State (604).

Three Stanford golfers are in the top 25 individually heading into tomorrow's final round.

Husted leads the field individually after firing rounds of 69 and 72 on day one for a two-round total of 141. She holds a four stroke lead over Baylor's Josefin Svenningsson who is second at 145.

Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana carded rounds of 75 and 72 and is tied for seventh with a 147 while teammate Stephanie Lue is tied for 23rd with a 154 (78-76). Freshman Mari Chun checks in tied for 29th (79-76--155) one stroke back. Cardinal Lauren Todd is tied for 41st with a 157 (79-78). Saana Rapakko, competing as an individual, is tied for 52nd (78-81--159).

Final round action takes place tommorrow at the Kapolei Golf Course.
