No. 20 Cal Takes Fourth at Kent Youel Invitational

HONOLULU - No. 20 California, tied for third after round two this morning, took fourth place after Wednesday's third and final round at the Kent Youel Invitational at Kapolei Golf Course. The Golden Bears carded a score of 913 (+49), while No. 8 USC won with an 896 (+32). Sofie Andersson paced the Bears with a tie for third place. The senior shot a seven-over 223 to tie Long Beach State's Kay Hoey.

Rounding out the top five teams are runner-up and twenty-fifth-ranked Stanford (902), third-place Long Beach State (907) and fifth-place Baylor (920). Stanford's Kelly Husted won the individual title, shooting a four-under 212.

Cal senior Sophia Sheridan finished tied for 12th with a 228 and freshman teammate Allison Goodman tied for 18th (231). Bears sophomore Enu Chung was 29th (233) and junior teammate Mika Takayama tied for 49th (239).

The Bears are back in action at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge Feb. 13-15, 2006, in Palos Verdes, Calif.
