Balanced Bruin Attack Nets Exhibition Win

UCLA guard Noelle Quinn, with 13 points, led of group of eight Bruin players that scored seven or more points as the Bruins beat Love and Basketball 86-75 in an exhibition contest played in Pauley Pavilion on Sunday afternoon.
UCLA, which trailed 35-34 at the half, broke a 41-all tie at the 17:57 mark of the second half with a 14-3 run and took a 55-44 lead with 13:02 to play in the game. Six different Bruins scored during the run setting the tone for the day. The Bruins built the lead up to as many as 17, at 84-67, with 1:40 to play before coming away with the 86-75 win.
A trio of Bruins, senior guard Lisa Willis and freshmen Ashlee Trebilcock and Chinyere Ibekwe each scored nine points. Willis also grabbed six boards and totaled four steals. Juniors Shaina Zaidi and Amanda Livingston each scored eight points. Senior guard Nikki Blue and junior forward Lindsey Pluimer added seven points apiece. Blue handed out nine assists for the game and recorded four steals. Pluimer pulled down eight rebounds.
UCLA will host to Play Mode next Sunday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion in its finals exhibition contest. The Bruins begin the regular season with a Nov. 18 game at defending national champion Baylor. The Bruin home opener is on Nov. 22 versus BYU at 7 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion.
