Stanford Set to Play Saint Louis in NCAA Tournament

Nov. 7, 2005

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford women's soccer earned its eighth-straight bid to the NCAA Tournament this afternoon, as the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Committee announced the 64-team field. It is the 15th NCAA berth for the Cardinal, who own a 12-12-3 record in postseason play.

The Cardinal (10-6-3, 4-3-2 Pac-10) will play Saint Louis at Santa Clara in the first round on the NCAA Tournament this Friday. The 15-4-0 Bilikens won the Atlantic 10 Tournament title yesterday to earn an automatic bid to the tournament. This will be the first match-up between Stanford and Saint Louis.

The Broncos will serve as hosts for the first and second rounds, with the Stanford-Saint Louis winner playing the Santa Clara-Fresno State victor on Sunday.

Game times will be announced later today.
