Women's Tennis Makes Home Debut At The Husky Invitational

SEATTLE - Under the tutelage of first-year head coach Jill Hultquist, the Washington women's tennis team will make its home debut hosting the Husky Invitational, Saturday, Nov. 12 through Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center on the UW campus.
Joining the Huskies' in the two-day affair will be players from Pac-10 foe Oregon, Portland and Boise State. The tournament features two flights of singles and one doubles flight, with action on both Saturday and Sunday beginning at 8 a.m.
This weekend marks the second year UW has hosted the Husky Invitational. Last season, UW's Dea Sumantri won both the top singles flight and doubles titles. Sumantri defeated teammate Dinka Hadzic in the championship singles match, while teaming up with Cassy Fabiani to win the doubles crown.
The Husky Invitational marks the end of the fall season for Washington, which opens its 2006 dual season hosting BYU, Saturday, Jan. 21 at 12 p.m. at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.
