Nov. 9, 2005

PULLMAN, Wash. - Thomas Abercrombie has signed a National Letter of Intent to play men's basketball at Washington State University, Cougar Head Coach Dick Bennett announced, Tuesday.

'We're really excited to get Tom on board,' WSU Associate Head Coach Tony Bennett said. 'He is probably the best player his age in New Zealand, and brings with him a tremendous amount of potential.'

A native of Devonport, Auckland, New Zealand, Abercrombie is a 6-foot-5, 185-pound wing playing under head coach Mark Jackson at Westlake Boys High School. Abercrombie is a two-year captain for the Swans and has averaged over 19 points and 11 rebounds combined during the last two seasons.

'Thomas has a lot of athleticism and a good feel of the game,' Tony Bennett added. 'He is an excellent student who comes from a great family and will be a great addition to Cougar basketball.'
