Nov. 10, 2005

Stanford, Calif. - The Stanford women's golf team prepares for the 2005 Collegiate Match Play Championship, which will be held Nov. 11-13 at Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort at Howey-in-the Hills, Fla., and will be co-hosted by the Central Florida Sports Commission. Sixteen teams will compete over three days in a match play format on the Las Colinas at Mission Inn.

In the women's bracket, Top-seeded UCLA faces UC Irvine in the opening round and the victor will meet the eighth-seeded Washington vs. ninth-seeded Michigan State winner. Fourth-seeded Arizona State plays Missouri while Southern California squares off against Tulane. Arkansas nabbed the third seed and will tee off against Furman. Sixth-seeded Texas A&M battles Florida. The bracket is completed by matches pitting seventh-seeded Tennessee against Stanford and Purdue - the No. 2 seed - versus Oklahoma State.

Invitation to the Match Play was based on the 2005 National Championship and how teams finished.
