UCLA Finishes Fourth At The Head Of The Lake

Seattle, WA - UCLA placed a close fourth at the Head of the Lake competition, showing that it is among the top teams in the nation. The Bruins finished with a time of 16:34.811, behind Washington State University (16:31.178), Yale University (16:33.094), and the University of Washington (16:33.323). Stanford University rounded out the top five with a time of 16:39.098. Many of the nation's top teams attended the event.
Competing for the Bruins were Liz Pallas-Jacobs, Jessica Fritz, Erin Rice, Patricia Dudziec, Vanessa Teff, Erin Haggerty, Elizabeth Lee, Leah Wachtel, and Kirsten Potenza (cox). Complete results can be found at www.lakewashingtonrowing.com.
'We are happy with the way we raced and are pleased to be in a grouping with many of the top crews in the country,' says coach Amy Fuller Kearney. 'The results show how very competitive the sport has become and we're looking forward to a lot of hard work as we prepare for the spring season.'
This race concludes the fall season and the Bruins will return to action on March 11 vs. Loyola Marymount for the start of the spring season.
