Football game spurs canned food drive

Nov. 11, 2005

BERKELEY, Calif. - California's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee staged a canned food drive around the Golden Bears' football game with top-ranked USC at Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Cal athletes were asked to donate as much non-perishable food possible to benefit those less fortunate as we near the holiday season.

The SAAC placed big, red trash bins in the Haas training room, Stadium training room and the Student Learning Center in hopes of catching student-athletes at places they frequented around campus. Also, SAAC representatives and more red bins were at the Fun Zone next to Memorial Stadium.
