Seventh-Seeded Cal to Face Santa Clara in the second round of the NCAA Tournament

BERKELEY - The seventh-seeded California men's soccer team will host Santa Clara, Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 1:30 p.m. at Edwards Stadium in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Santa Clara (13-6-2) defeated Ohio State, 1-0, Friday night at Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara. Midfielder Peter Lowry scored in the 47th minute for the Broncos.
The Bears lead the all-time series against Santa Clara, 25-11-4. In their last meeting (9/18/05), Cal defeated the No. 7 (at the time) Broncos, 1-0, in the 86th minute.
Tickets can be purchased the day of the event only, outside Edwards Stadium, on the corner of Bancroft and Fulton. Adults are $8, seniors and youth are $5, and Cal students with ID are $5.
Cal earned a No. 7 seed and first round bye for the 2005 NCAA Tournament. The Bears are making their fifth-consecutive postseason appearance. Last season, Cal defeated Santa Clara, 2-1, in the first round, before falling to SMU in the second round, 1-0.
