Ducks Ease Past Tigers

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Malik Hairston scored 17 points and Maarty Leunen had 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead Oregon past Pacific 84-62 in the final game of the Hispanic College Fund Classic at McArthur Court Tuesday night.
Bryce Taylor also scored 16 for the Ducks (3-0), and reserve forward Ivan Johnson came off the bench to score 14. Taylor and Leunen hit back-to-back 3-pointers and Johnson followed with five straight as the Ducks used an 11-0 run to take a 21-8 lead by the 12:41 mark of the first half.
Taylor's second 3-pointer of the game sparked a 12-2 Oregon run in the final minutes of the half, giving the Ducks a 49-24 advantage at the break.
Hairston scored eight of the first 12 points of the second half for the Ducks, as their lead swelled to 30 points.
Christian Maraker led the Tigers (3-1) with 16 points. He made all eight of his free throws, but the rest of the team was just 5-for-13 from the line. Mike Webb added nine points
Led by Hairston, who made 7-of-11 field goals, Oregon shot 56 percent from the field. The Ducks also took good care of the ball, compiling 18 assists against nine turnovers.
Leunen, the tournament MVP, had 11 points and six rebounds in the first half.
