PLAYER OF THE YEAR -- SANJA TOMASEVIC, WASHINGTON
Tomasevic, a two-time All-Pac-10 selection, becomes the first Washington player to be named Pac-10 Player of the Year. She led the Huskies to a successful defense of their Pac-10 title with a 17-1 league record. Tomasevic, a native of Uzice, Serbia-Montenegro, was among the league statistical leaders in hitting percentage (.373/4th), kills per game (4.52 kpg/4th) and points (5.44 ppg/4th). She holds a pair of Washington career records with 1,716 kills and 150 service aces. With 1,157 career digs, she is one of only three Huskies all-time to record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.

FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR -- FOLUKE AKINRADEWO, STANFORD
Akinradewo, a middle blocker from Plantation, Fla., is third in the Pac-10 with a .403 hitting percentage and tenth in kills (3.95 kpg), points (4.75 ppg) and blocks (1.08 bpg). In Pac-10 matches only, she tops all players with a .386 hitting percentage. She posted double digit kill totals in 25 of 30 matches played this season. Akinradewo becomes the ninth Cardinal, and fourth in the last seven years, to earn Pac-10 Freshman of the Year honors.

The Huskies rolled off a school-record 23-match winning streak and finished the regular season at 26-1 overall. Washington has been ranked second or third all season in the USA Today/CSTV Top 25 poll. McLaughlin, who earns the honor for the third time in four seasons, has a career record of 190-83 (.696) in nine seasons, including a record of 107-40 (.728) in five seasons at Washington. Prior to Washington, McLaughlin spent four years at Kansas State, compiling a 81-43 (.653) record.
