California's DeVon Hardin Named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Men's Basketball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - CALIFORNIA center DeVon Hardin has been named the U.S. Bank Pacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for November 21 - 27, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Hardin, a sophomore from Fremont, Calif., posted three double-doubles in three Golden Bear wins last week. He scored 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds against Long Beach State, 21 points and 10 rebounds against Northern Colorado, and set two career-highs, scoring 23 points and grabbing 14 boards against Northeastern. Hardin also added a career-best four blocks against the UNC Bears.
For the season, Hardin has shot 59.5 percent from the floor, averaging 15.8 ppg and 9.8 rpg. His performance versus Northern Colorado and Northeastern in the Golden Bear Classic earned him Classic MVP honors.
California (3-1, 0-0 Pac-10), continues its six-game non-Conference homestand this weekend, hosting San Jose State on Wed., Nov. 30 and Akron on Sat., Dec. 3.
This is the first weekly honor for Hardin and California's 34th Player of the Week all-time.
