Coach Hart Selected as USTA/ITA Community Service Award Winner

PULLMAN, Wash. - The United States Tennis Association and Intercollegiate Tennis Association selected Washington State's Head Tennis Coach Lisa Hart as a winner of the Community Service Award. The Sunnyside native was selected as the Pacific Northwest sectional winner.

'It is an honor to be the recipient of the Pacific Northwest USTA/ITA Community Service Award,' Hart said. 'We spend a lot of time preparing and participating in community service projects.'

The award honors an ITA coach for his/her significant contributions in developing community based tennis programs through the community. The USTA/ITA announced 22 sectional winners and two national winners out of over 2,000 ITA coaches.

Coach Hart and the Cougars are now focusing on dual match play, which begins Jan., 17 against Eastern Washington and Idaho in Pullman at the Stadium Way Tennis Center.
