Cal Places Fifth at Texas Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas - Third-ranked California claimed fifth place tonight at the completion of the Texas Invitational held at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. The Golden Bears, who did not compete in the evening finals, ended the competition with 336 points.
Cal junior Daniel Lysaught, who earlier in the day swam in the first heat of the 1,650-yard freestyle, ended up ninth in the distance event with a time of 15:30.15 after the evening heat.
Cal next competes in the Snowball Invitational on Jan. 5 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
