Former Stanford Swimmer Tara Kirk Second In 200 Breast At U.S. Open

Auburn, Ala. - Former Stanford swimmer Tara Kirk closed out the 2005 U.S. Open by finishing second in the 200 meter breaststroke (2:30.17) on the meet's third and final day of action at the James E. Martin Aquatic Center. Kirk checked in with a time of 2:30.17 with fellow Olympian Megan Jendrick overtaking Kirk in the last 20 meters and winning in a time of 2:28.89.
Kirk had defeated Jendrick in the 100 meter breaststroke on the first day of the meet Thursday.
