UW Men Ranked 16th In Preseason Poll

SEATTLE, Wash. - The Washington men's tennis team earned a No. 16 ranking in the preseason FILA Collegiate Tennis Rankings released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, Tuesday. In addition to the Huskies' team ranking, junior Alex Slovic earned a No. 32 singles billing.

Washington finished the 2005 season ranked 14th after winning a share of the Pac-10 team title and advancing to the Round of 16 at the NCAA Championships.

The Huskies open the 2006 dual season hosting Idaho Friday, Jan. 20 at 5 p.m. and Eastern Washington, Saturday, Jan. 21, at 4 p.m. The Huskies play their first six dual matches at home prior to hosting the 2006 USTA/ITA National Men's Team Indoor Championships at the Nordstrom Tennis Center, Feb. 17-20.
