California Women's Gymnastics Shines in First Win of the Season

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The California women's gymnastics team posted their first win of the season over Sacramento State on Friday night. Cal posted a 191.625, slipping pass the Hornets who recorded a 190.475.

Four gymnasts competed in the all-around for Cal. Freshman Jessica Kelley's 38.450 was the Bear's best all-around score. Kelley finished first overall.

Senior Britani Pittullo and sophomore Siobhan Luce tied for second in the all-around at 38.200. Freshman Lydia Williams finished in fifth (37.250).

The Bears recorded a 48.100, which is their season-high floor score. Kelley finished second on the floor (9.700). Pittullo's 9.650 placed her in fourth, while junior Nicki Wells finished in fifth (9.600).

Freshman Joanna Bennett, Wells and Pittullo all tied for first on the bars with a score of 9.675.

California will host their first home meet of the season next Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Haas Pavilion, when the Beavers of Oregon State visit the Bears.
