Pade, Bruch Advance to Semifinals at Sherwood Collegiate Cup

Both Matt Bruch and James Pade won their quarterfinal matches today in the Sherwood Collegiate Cup at the Sherwood Country Club in Westlake Village, Calif. Doubles play was postponed due to rain.

Bruch beat Chris Surapol of UCLA, 6-4, 6-4. The Cardinal freshman is now 14-2 this season and ranked No. 4 in the nation. Pade, returning in 2006 after redshirting the '05 season, was impressive in beating Andre Begemann of Pepperdine 1-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Sunday's play will include Bruch and Pade in the semifinals, several consolation matches as well as the beginning of doubles play.
