Fourth Annual Southern California Baseball Media Day to be Televised Live by CSTV

Los Angeles, Calif. - The Fourth Annual Southern California Baseball Media Day will be held Wednesday, Jan. 18 from The Walter Pyramid on the campus of Long Beach State and will be broadcast live on College Sports Television (CSTV) and CSTV.com.
The broadcast is presented by Easton Sports, official sponsor of CSTV's 2006 baseball and softball programming. CSTV is providing the first-ever live coverage from the event - on television and broadband - which features head coaches and key players from 14 college teams that have built the rich baseball tradition in Southern California.
The show will air from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. PST next Wednesday. CSTV is available on cable systems throughout the country, Dish Network and DirecTV, as well as via broadband through the CSTV.com XXL package.
CSTV baseball analyst Kevin Stocker will be on hand with play-by-play personality Carter Blackburn to host the network's live coverage, which includes comprehensive analysis and interviews with a myriad of players and coaches from the 14 Southern California schools.
CSTV, the No. 1 destination for college sports, has taken the lead in covering college baseball as well, producing in-season games since its launch in 2003. Southern California universities annually pepper the national rankings and have combined for 43 College World Series appearances (USC-21, Cal State Fullerton-13, Long Beach State-4, Pepperdine-2, UCLA-2, Loyola Marymount-1) and 19 national championships (USC-12, Cal State Fullerton-4, Pepperdine-1, CS Northridge-2 at D-II).
Head coaches and players from Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, Cal Poly, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, Pacific, Pepperdine, San Diego, San Diego State, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, USC, UCLA will be on hand to field questions
The listed schools have produced Hall of Famers (such as UCLA's Jackie Robinson, Cal Poly's Ozzie Smith and USC's Tom Seaver), Major League Most Valuable Players (Long Beach State's Jason Giambi), Cy Young Award winners (Pepperdine's Mike Scott, USC's Randy Johnson and Barry Zito, who made stops at UC Santa Barbara and USC) and rising stars (such as Pepperdine's Dan Haren, Noah Lowry and Randy Wolf, USC's Mark Prior, Long Beach State's Bobby Crosby and Cal State Fullerton's Mark Kotsay). In all, more than 150 players from Southern California schools can currently be found on the professional baseball circuit.
