Ducks Win Shootout In Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Sophomore point guard Kaela Chapdelaine scored acareer-high 18 points to lift Oregon to an 81-73 victory over Washingtonon Saturday night before 4,352 fans at McArthur Court.
Chelsea Wagner and Gabrielle Richards added 13 points apiece andKedzie Gunderson had 11 for the Ducks (12-6 overall, 3-5 Pac-10), who shot 56percent from the field, including 12-of-20 on 3-point attempts.
The first half turned into a 3-point shooting contest, with the Huskiesconnecting on 8-of-15 shots from 3-point range and Oregon hitting 7-of-10. Hicks hit a trey just before the buzzer to give Washington a 46-40halftime lead.
But the Huskies shot just 29 percent in the second half as Oregontook a 57-49 lead on back-to-back 3-pointers by Chapdelaine and senior BrandiDavis with 11:58 to go.
Chapdelaine, averaging 3.2 points this season, hit another 3-pointerwith 6:48 left to push the Ducks' lead to 69-59. The 5-foot-10 point guardfrom Okotoks, Alberta was a career-best 6-for-8 from the field,hitting 5-of-6 3-pointers. Her previous career high was nine points lastseason.
Dominique Banks' jumper cut the Huskies' deficit to 69-63, but the Ducks pulled away with an 8-2 run to take a 77-65 lead with 1:05 left.
