Men's Tennis Kicks Off 2006 Season Against NAU and New Mexico State

Tempe, Ariz. - The Arizona State Men's Tennis Team will kick off their 2006 season Wednesday afternoon at Tempe's Whiteman Tennis Center where they will face off against the Northern Arizona University Lumberjacks (1-2).
Following the NAU match, the Devils are set to take on New Mexico State University in the first action of the season for the Aggies on Friday afternoon in Tempe.
The Devils are eager to take on both squads and will look to continue their nearly flawless records against both teams as they have a series record of 32-0 against the NAU Lumberjacks and a 27-3 record against the Aggies.
The Lumberjacks are looking to rebound from last weekends action which resulted in a 4-3 loss at Utah State and a 5-2 loss at Idaho State, the Lumberjacks were able to come off with a 4-3 win at Weber State to round off the weekend.
Last year, the Devils were able to defeat the Lumberjacks in a 6-1 win on February 23 in Tempe at ASU's Whiteman Tennis Center.
After the Devils take on the Lumberjacks, they will look to step up and take on New Mexico State University, whom they defeated in last year's season opener with a 7-0 sweep of the Aggies on February 5 in Tempe.
The Devils will look to build on their success from the San Diego State University Invitational two weeks ago in which they went 12-6 in singles over the weekend and 4-2 in doubles action.
The NAU match is set to kick off at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at ASU's Whiteman Tennis Center.
The Devils will also host NAU vs. NMSU on Thursday morning as well at the Whiteman Tennis Center before the Devils take on the NMSU Aggie's on Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
