Svahnstrom Qualifes for World Short Course Championships

Former Bruin Malin Svahnstrom has qualified for the Short Course World Championships in Beijing, China as a member of the Swedish National Team. The meet, which is held April 6-9 in Beijing, features some of the world's best swimmers in the short course events.

Svahnstrom will compete in the 100 and 200 Individual Medley, as well as relay events (which are yet to be determined). Svahnstrom, an undergraduate assistant with the swim team and fifth-year senior, is a two-time Olympian (Athens and Sydney) and World Championship competitor.

Also making the trip is UCLA's massage therapist, Dr. Brian Campbell. Campbell will serve as the Head Massage Therapist for the country of Tunisia. In 2004, Campbell was the Head Massage Therapist for the U.S. Olympic team in the Athens Olympic Games.
