Arizona State's Joona Puhakka Named Pac-10 Men's Diver of the Month

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - ARIZONA STATE diver Joona Puhakka has been named Pac-10 Men's Diver of the Month for January, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Puhakka, a senior from Helsinki, Finald, won the one-meter and three-meter events against Minnesota, scoring 426.80 and 434.77, respectively. At California, he scored second in the one-meter at 372.60 and third in the three-meter at 304.87. Puhakka finished the month sweeping the springboards at Stanford, scoring 254.20 in the one-meter and 247.05 in the three-meter.

This is the second monthly honor for Puhakka and Arizona State's second Diver of the Month all-time. Puhakka is the first male diver in the Conference to win the award twice in a season.
