Noelle Quinn Named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player Of The Week

Walnut Creek, Calif. - UCLA junior guard Noelle Quinn has been namedthe U.S. Bank Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb.6-12, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
The Los Angeles, Calif., native led UCLA to a weekend sweep of theWashington schools that catapulted the Bruins into third place in thePac-10 standings. In the Bruins' 77-50 win over the Cougars, she had15 points and helped UCLA limit Washington State to an opponentseason-low 50 points. In the 83-75 win over Washington, she scored agame-high 23 points and nearly recorded a triple-double, adding nineassists and eight rebounds.
Quinn, who this week was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 8first team, has scored 20 or more points in seven of her last eightgames, with the Bruins recording a 6-2 record in those contests andmoving from sixth place in the Conference up to third. In those eightgames, she is averaging 23.5 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists,while shooting 56.1 percent from the field.
With her 38 points on the weekend, Quinn moved into 18th place onUCLA's all-time scoring list with 1,140 career points.
UCLA (15-9, 10-5), hosts cross-town rival USC on Sat., Feb. 18.
This is Quinn's third Pac-10 Player of the Week honor this season and the eighth in her career, which ties the Pac-10 record for most all-time Player of the Week honors, held by OSU's Tanja Kostic,USC's Lisa Leslie, USC's Cherie Nelson and fellow Bruin, NatalieWilliams. It is also UCLA's 36th all-time weekly honor.
