Bruins Fall to Sixth at Regional Challenge

The second-ranked UCLA women's golf team fell to sixth place after the second round of the Regional Challenge, hosted by the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
The Bruins posted a team score of 310, nine strokes worse than their first round score, and rose to a 36-hole total of 611 (+43). They trail first-place USC by 20 strokes. Arizona State was second at 592 (+15), followed by Oklahoma State at 598 (+30), California at 603 (+35) and Wake Forest at 604 (+36).
Individually for the Bruins, only sophomore Amie Cochran improved her score from the first round. She posted a four-over par 75 and climbed the leaderboard into a tie for 31st place at 154 (+12). Senior Susie Mathews fell from first to 15th place after carding an 81 (+10) on Tuesday. Freshman Tiffany Joh turned in a second straight score of 76 and rose into a tie for 16th at 152 (+10). Freshman Jane Park was tied for 31st at 154 (+12) and teammate Ryann O'Toole was tied for 65th at 163 (+21). Sophomore Brianna Loyear, playing as an individual, was tied for 58th at 160 (+18).
