Dorrell To Be Honored by UCLA Black Alumni Assn.

UCLA head football coach Karl Dorrell will be honored by the UCLA Black Alumni Association at its annual awards benefit this Sunday evening, February 19.

This past season, Dorrell led the Bruins to a 10-2 record, only the seventh 10-win season in school history, a No. 13 final ranking and a victory in the Sun Bowl. He will receive the Florence Griffith Joyner Spirit of Victory Award.

Other honorees include Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa (Ralph J. Bunche Trailblazer Award), Judge Joe Brown (Tom Bradley Alumnus of the Year Award), Carolyn Webb de Macias (Arthur Ashe Community Service Award) and Dr. Charles Z. Wilson (Jackie Robinson Lifetime Achievement Award).

The black tie optional awards benefit will be held at City Club on Bunker Hill, with cocktails at 6:00 p.m. and dinner at 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact the UBAA website at: www.uclablackalumni.org.
