Women's Golf to compete in Wildcat Invitational

Tempe, Ariz. - After placing first at the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge last week in Palos Verdes, Calif., the Arizona State women's golf team travels south to instate rival University of Arizona to compete in the Wildcat Invitational held on Feb. 20-21. The tournament will be held at the 6,785-yard Arizona National Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz.
The field for the Wildcat Invitational includes: Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, California, Duke, Georgia, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Pepperdine, Stanford, Tennessee, UCLA, UNLV, USC, Vanderbilt, and Washington.
ASU is using the same line-up from last weeks first place finish. Jennifer Osborn, Azahara Munoz, Alissa Kuczka, Tiffany Tavee, and Charmaine Erasumus all helped ASU place first in the opening tournament of the spring season. In addition, three Sun Devils will be playing as individuals, Lindsay Anderson, Danelle Perata, and Brooke Todare.
Last time out, the Arizona State women's golf team placed first in the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge. ASU shot a 40-over 892 (293, 299, 300) for the tournament. It was the first, first place finish for the Sun Devils of the 2005-2006 season.
Arizona State is currently ranked eighth in the nation according to Golf Week Magazine.
