Follow the Huskies Live at Wildcat Invitational

Seattle - The 15th-ranked Washington women's golf team continues the 2006 campaign Feb. 20-21 at the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. The Huskies have not played in the event, hosted by the University of Arizona, since 2003, when they placed sixth.
The format for this year's tournament features a shotgun start and 36 holes of play on Monday, Feb. 20 and 18 holes on Tuesday, February 21. The event will be held at the par-72, 6,134-yard Arizona National Golf Club, with action beginning at 8 a.m. (MST) each morning. The 16-team field includes eight of Golfweek's Top 10 teams, and 14 squads ranked in the Top 25. The participating teams (and their rankings) are: Arizona (18), Arizona State (9), Auburn (6), Duke (1), Georgia (4), Nevada (23), New Mexico, New Mexico State, Pepperdine (5), Stanford (16), Tennessee (14), UCLA (2), UNLV (12), USC (8), Vanderbilt (10) and Washington (15).
Senior All-American Paige Mackenzie leads the Huskies into the tournament with a 73.33 stroke average. Junior Amber Prange was Washington's top finisher at their last event, the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, carding a 228 to finish 20th. Sung Ea Lee, Courtney McCracken and Kim Shin round out the Husky lineup.
The Huskies tied for sixth at the Wildcat Invitational in 2003 by shooting a final round 292, the best round of the day. Lindsay Morgan led the Husky charge, finishing third overall with a 54-hole total of 215.
