Stanford Takes Rubber Game At Fresno State, 6-3

Fresno, Calif. - Solo homers by Chris Minaker and John Hester put Stanford (9-4) ahead to stay, while David Stringer (2-1) earned the victory with a 5.0 scoreless innings of relief in a 6-3 win over Fresno State (7-8) in the rubber game of a three-game series at Beiden Field on Sunday.

Minaker (2-5, HR, 2 RBI), Jim Rapoport (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI) and Hester drove in two runs each in the victory, while Michael Taylor (2-5, 2B) had a pair of doubles to extend his hit streak to a new career-high seven games.

Stanford returns to action with a three-game non-conference series at California next Friday-Sunday (2 pm, 1 pm, 1 pm, PT).
