Men's Golf In Eighth At Ashworth Invitational

The Stanford men's golf team are in eighth place overall after rain shortened play at the USC-hosted Ashworth Invitational on Monday (Feb. 27) at the North Ranch Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif. The Cardinal shot a 290 in the first round.
Washington finished in first at 1-over and was followed by Pepperdine (+3) during a challenging day of play that featured almost constant rain, wind and general miserable playing conditions. Oklahoma's Anthony Kim led all individuals at 3-under with six holes to go in the second round.
Stanford's Rob Grube is currently tied for ninth overall after shooting a 72 in the first round (he is one-under in his second round which was not completed). Teammate Zack Miller is tied for 14th with a 72 in the first round (he is currently one over in the second round of play which has not been completed). Stanford's Dodge Kemmer is tied for 26th (71 in first round) while Matt Savage checks in tied for 47th (75 in first round). Cardinal Daniel Lim is tied for 51st (76 in first round). Kyle Gentry checks in tied for 67th (79 first round).
Play was halted before completion of the second round as the weather worsened. The competition is scheduled to resume at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
