STANFORD SNAPSHOT
• Stanford sits at 9-5 after Friday's heartbreaking 7-6 loss at California ... The Cardinal has won three of its four series prior to its current series versus California by sweeping then No. 5 Cal State Fullerton and dropping two-of-three to Kansas, before taking two-of-three against both then No. 7 Texas and at Fresno State in its first road series of the season last Friday-Sunday ... The Cardinal also won a single game against Nevada
• Stanford has won five-of-six games against nationally ranked teams but is just 4-4 against unranked opponents
• Stanford is in the midst of a 10-game road swing that started at Fresno State last Friday-Sunday and will continue with the final two games of its current series at California on Saturday and Sunday, before heading to San Jose State (March 7) and USC (March 10-12) next week ... Stanford will not return home until hosting Washington State in its first Pac-10 series Saturday-Monday, March 25-27, after a 12-day break from March 13-24 for finals
David Stringer earned Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week honors for the first time in his career with two phenomenal performances on the mound last week, going 2-0 with an 0.87 ERA and allowing just one earned run in 10.1 innings while striking out 15 and walking just one ... Stringer made his first collegiate start in his first appearance of the week versus Nevada (2/21) and then got another win out of the bullpen against Fresno State (2/26)
• Stanford returned to the Baseball America poll this past Monday at #19 after not being ranked last week ... The Cardinal is ranked as high as #10 by Collegiate Baseball, while the NCBWA and the Rosenblatt Report both list Stanford at No. 17
• Stanford has raised its team batting average from a season-low of .199 after five games to its current season-high of .256 by hitting .286 with six double-digit hit games over the past eight contests
Michael Taylor has a current career-high eight-game hit streak ... Taylor is hitting .444 (14-29) with four doubles and 10 RBI during the streak, while leading the team with a .367 batting average and and ranking second with 15 RBI overall
Chris Minaker is on a torrid season-high seven-game hit streak, hitting .516 during the streak after going 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI at California on Friday ... On the season, he leads the team with three homers and 15 RBI, while ranking second among regulars with a .362 batting average overall
• Stanford’s team ERA of 3.45 would be the lowest since the 1973 club checked in with a 2.64 mark were the season to end today
• Freshman pitcher Jeremy Bleich has already recorded five saves while appearing in nine of his first 13 games at Stanford, giving up just six hits and one earned run for an 0.75 ERA and a .140 opponents' batting average with 11 strikeouts in 12.0 innings
