Men's Golf Ninth in New Poll

According to the new GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll, the Arizona State men's golf team is ranked number nine in the nation and garnered one of the 19 first place votes. Georgia, who has been atop the GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll for the eighth-straight week, received the other 18 first place votes.

Last week the Sun Devils played at the 2006 Puerto Rico classic. ASU placed sixth overall shooting a 6-over 870 (285-300-285). ASU's Alejandro Canizares, who had won individualist honors last year, lead the Sun Devils after shooting a 4-under 212 (69-73-70) to place fifth in the tournament.

Next up, the Sun Devils travel to Las Vegas Nev. to compete in the Southern Highlands Championship March 10-12.

The next GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches poll will be released March 16.
