Kovesdy Named to Pac-10 Tournament's All-Tournament Team

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Arizona State senior F Kristen Kovesdy was named to the 2006 Pac-10 Tournament's All-Tournament Team as voted on by members of the media covering the tournament.
In her two games at the Pac-10 Tournament, Kovesdy averaged 16.0 points and three rebounds while making 67 percent of her field goals (12-18) and 80 percent of her free throws (8-10).
In ASU's 74-66 victory over Oregon State in the tournament quarterfinals, Kovesdy had 11 of her 14 points in the second half as the Sun Devils overcame a 16-point deficit to overtake the Beavers. In the semifinals against UCLA, Kovesdy led the Sun Devils with 18 points and four rebounds as ASU fell to the eventual tournament-champion Bruins by one point, 60-59.
Last week, Kovesdy was named to the All-Pac-10 team after a season in which she led the Sun Devils in scoring (12.5 points per game) and rebounding (6.5 rebounds per game) while leading the Pac-10 in field goal percentage (.600).
The Sun Devils (24-6, 14-4 Pac-10) return to action when they begin play in the 2006 NCAA Tournament. They will find out their first round opponent and the site of their next game when the pairings are announced on Monday, March 13.
