Blue Team Tied for Second after Day One

The UCLA men's golf Blue Team was tied for second place after the first round of competition in the UC Riverside Braveheart Classic at Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont. The second round was postponed due to darkness and was completed Tuesday morning.
The Bruins posted a team score of 291 (+3) and trailed first place Loyola Marymount by two strokes. Jacksonville was tied with UCLA, followed by third place Cal Poly at 292 (+4). Southern Utah and UC Santa Barbara were tied for fifth at 294 (+6).
Individually for the Blues, junior Chris Heintz posted nines of 35-34--69 (-3) and was in second place, one stroke behind the leader. Freshman Lucas Lee posted a score of 73 (+1) and was tied for 21st. Sophomore Brandon Christianson was tied for 24th at 74 (+2), and Matt Marshall was tied for 35th after carding a 75 (+3). Junior Peter Campbell was tied for 67th after posting a 78 (+6).
Jacksonville's Jamie Kennedy was the first round leader, firing a four-under par 68.
The third and final round will be completed Tuesday afternoon.
