Nick Young Named To USBWA All-District Team

USC sophomore Nick Young was named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District IX Team it was announced today (March 6). The 10 players selected in District IX are from schools located in California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Arizona and Alaska.
Young, who was named to the 2005-06 All-Pac-10 Team on March 5, leads the Trojans with an average of 17.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. He ranks fourth among Pac-10 players in points per game and sixth in rebounds per game, one of three players in the conference to rank in the top 10 in both categories.
Young scored a career-high 33 points and grabbed a career-best 14 rebounds on Feb. 25 vs. Oregon State. He has scored in double figures in all but one game this season and has scored 25 or more points five times.
Young was joined on the District IX Team by Arron Afflalo of UCLA, Hassan Adams of Arizona, J.P. Batista of Gonzaga, Jordan Farmar of UCLA, Matt Haryasz of Stanford, Brandon Heath of San Diego State, Leon Powe of California, Brandon Roy of Washington and Marcus Slaughter of San Diego State.
