Nine Stanford Swimmers Qualify For 2006 NCAA Championships

Stanford, Calif. - Nine Stanford swimmers have qualified for the 2006 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships to be held Thursday-Saturday, March 16-18, in Athens, Georgia. The team's divers will attempt to qualify for the NCAA's during the NCAA Zone E Championships this Thursday-Saturday, March 9-11, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The nine Stanford divers that have qualified for the 2006 NCAA's are Andrea Axtell, Brooke Bishop, Kristen Caverly, Lauren Costella, Laura Davis, Elizabeth Durot, Dana Kirk, Madeline Rovira and Desiree Stahley.Three members of the group - Bishop, Caverly and Kirk - have seedings within the Top 10 of events.
Kirk is seeded second in the 100 fly (52.29) and fourth in the 200 fly (1:56.64), while Caverly is third in the 200 IM (1:58.54) and seventh in the 200 breast (2:12.11), and Bishop is tied for sixth in the 200 back (1:56.11).
