Erin Reilly Named Pac-10 Swimmer of the Month

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.- Cal junior Erin Reilly has been named the Pac-10 Women's Swimmer of the Month for February, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Reilly, a junior from Sacramento, Calif., helped the No.3 Cal complete an undefeated regular season in the Golden Bears' 169-131 victory over Stanford on Feb. 11. Reilly finished first in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:46.92. Her 50.07 split in the 400-yard freestyle relay helped Cal win the event. She also earned a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (4:47.01) and a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (23.38).
Reilly continued her success at the Pac-10 Championships in Long Beach, Calif. As a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay, Reilly and the Bears won the event for the third straight year with a time of 7:08.31. On Day two, she notched a lifetime-best performance, clocking a 4:42.31 time in the 500-yard freestyle to earn second place. Cal took third in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:31.83, with Reilly splitting in 23.06. The junior continued to dominate on the third day, winning the 200-yard freestyle race in 1:45.70, and swimming her leg of the second place 400-yard medley relay in 52:89. Reilly finished the meet, placing second on the 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:18.01, splitting in 49.21) and sixth in the 100-yard freestyle (49.52).
This is the second monthly honor for Reilly and Cal's second Swimmer of the Month all-time.
Reilly and the Bears travel to Athens, Georgia for the NCAA Championships, March 16=18.
