Hartley, Li Earn NCAA National Honors

USC senior Blythe Hartley, who won two NCAA titles at the recently completed NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, was named 2006 NCAA Woman's Diver of the Year and Trojan Head Diving Coach Hongping Li earned 2006 NCAA Women's Diving Coach of the Year, the NCAA announced late on Saturday (March 18).
Hartley won her fourth and fifth career NCAA titles when she won the 1-meter springboard on Thursday (March 16) and the 3-meter springboard on Friday (March 17). She also reached the final of the platform on Saturday (March 18), the 12th final she has reached in 12 attempts.
Hartley, who is among only four NCAA women's diver with five or more career titles, was also named NCAA Diver of the Year as a freshman in 2002. Her pair of springboard wins marked the only the fourth time a woman has won both in the same NCAA meet. Her five career NCAA titles are tied for second-most in USC women's swimming and diving history.
For Li, his honor was also his second, the first coming in 2002.
