Burduli Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State tennis sophomore Ekaterina Burduli was named Pacific-10 Conference Player of the Week for the week of March 13-19, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced, Monday. This is Burduli's first Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and first weekly honor all-time for the Cougars.
The Tel Aviv, Israel native defeated Hawaii's Kana Aikawa 6-0, 6-1, Tuesday as WSU swept, 6-0. The team captain continued her winning ways by besting Jill Palen of Iowa State, 6-1, 6-1, Thursday and then defeated Wyoming's Karolina Rowinski, 7-5, 6-2 in the second half of the doubleheader.
Burduli lead the Cougars at the Newport Beach Tournament by defeating Caitlin O'Keefe of Ohio State, 6-4, 6-1. In her second doubleheader of the week, Burduli led Loyola Marymount's Pavla Mesterova, 6-4, 2-1, but the dual match played to completion.
