UW Golfers Resume Season in Georgia

Seattle - After a two-week break for final exams, the 25th-ranked Washington women's golf team continues the 2006 spring campaign March 24-26 at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Ga. Hosted by the University of Georgia, the 34th-annual event will take place at the par-72, 6,228-yard University of Georgia Golf Course.
Universities participating in the 18-team event include: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Florida State, Furman, Georgia, Kent State, Michigan State, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, and Washington. Play begins at 9 a.m. (ET) each morning, with a shotgun start scheduled for Sunday's final round.
Senior two-time All-American Paige Mackenzie led the Huskies with a seventh-place finish at Washington's last event, the Guadalajara Invitational, shooting 1-over 217. She leads UW with a 73.00 stroke average on the season. Sung Ea Lee, Amber Prange, Kim Shin and Amy Wang round out the Husky lineup.
