Jeffrey Strong At U.S. Spring Nationals

Sophomore Rhi Jeffrey broke the school record in the 100-meter freestyle (LCM) in one of her two second-place finishes to highlight USC's early efforts at the 2006 U.S. Spring Nationals this week in Federal Way, Wash.
Jeffrey finished second in the 100m free on Wednesday (March 29) in 55.68, breaking Lindsay Benko's 1999 record of 56.64 set at the same meet. Jeffrey's 2004 Olympic teammate Katie Hoff just out-touched her for the win (55.41).
Jeffrey, on Thursday, took second again in the 200m free in 2:01.53, this time behind only Kate Ziegler (2:00.43).
USC junior Kalyn Keller took fourth in the 800m free in 8:44.18.
Trojan men's swimmer Viktor Bodrogi was second in the 200m butterfly, hitting the wall in 1:59.82, just off Mike Merrell's 1992 school record (1:59.68). Freshman Vanni Mangoni also turned in a second-place performance in the 400m IM (4:27.69).
The meet continues through Saturday (April 1).
