Troy In 7th At Ping/ASU Invitational

Dewi-Claire Schreefel posted a 71, tying her low round of the season, to the lead the No. 4 Women of Troy on the first day of the Ping/ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., on Friday (March 31).

USC finished the first day in seventh with a 295 (+7). Host school Arizona State was in first (283, -5).

Schreefel, who had two rounds of 71 (-1) in the fall, matched the total on Friday with a steady round that featured three birdies, including one on 18. She is tied for seventh.

Junior Catalina Marin was tied for 27th after her 74 (+2) while senior Irene Cho and sophomore Paola Moreno were both tied for 36th after their 75s (+3).

Junior Veronica Felibert is tied for 62nd with her 78 (+6) while freshman Shelcie Takenouchi, playing as an individual, finished tied for 93rd (+16).
