Men's Golf Ties For 10th At Morris Williams Invitational

Austin, Tex. - The Stanford men's golf team finished tied for 10th place at the 2006 Morris Williams Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the Austin Country Club. Rob Grube tied for 25th-place to pace the Cardinal.

Stanford finished the day with a final round of 306 after rounds of 287 and 292 on Monday. Stanford's total of 885 tied them with Georgia Tech and SMU. Oklahoma State won its 11th Morris Williams title with a 14-under par total of 850. Texas Tech was second with a five-under par total of 859 while BYU took third (863).

Cardinal Rob Grube shot a final round of even par 72 to move into a tie for 25th over with a two-over 218 for the tournament. Teammate Zack Miller posted a six over 222 (72-72-78) over three rounds to tie for 43rd individually. Stanford's Daniel Lim tied for 49th after carding a 224 (74-72-78) while Scott MacDonald tied for 60th with a 226 (70-78-78). Matt Savage ended the day tied for 70th at 229 (78-73-78).
