Stanford Women Prepare For Peg Bernard

Stanford, Calif. - The Stanford women's golf team will host the Peg Bernard Collegiate, April 8-9, at the Stanford Golf Course this weekend. The 14-team field will play 18 holes each day on the 6,168 yard, par 72 course. Both days will feature a shotgun start for the squads, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. on Sunday.

Admission to the event is free to the public.

Joining Stanford this year for the Peg Barnard are California, Hawaii, Fresno State, Denver, UC Irvine, Long Beach State, Ohio State, San Francisco, Oregon State, Portland State, San Jose State, Washington State and Santa Clara.

Last year, the University of Washington claimed top team honors carding a two-round score of 587 while Washington State's Kim Welch won the individual title (140) for the second year in a row.

Stanford finished third in '05 with a 593 (+25). Kelly Husted placed fourth (145) while teammate Wendra Liang tied for 13th (148). Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana tied for eighth (147) and Lauren Todd tied for 30th (155). Cardinal Jenna Seki tied for 52nd (162) while Stephanie Lue tied for 72nd (170) place overall.
