No. 4 USC Women Leading 2-0 In Postponed Match At No. 12 Cal

BERKELEY, CALIF. -- The fourth-ranked USC women's tennis team's road match at No. 12 California was postponed today due to rain and will resume on Sunday (April 9) at 10 a.m. at Hellman Tennis Center.

USC leads the Bears 2-0, as the Trojans recorded singles victories at the No. 3 and No. 6 positions before inclement weather. 49th-ranked Luana Magnani defeated Stephanie Kusano 7-5, 6-0, and Carine Vermeulen outlasted Jessica Shu on court six 6-2, 7-6 to put USC ahead 2-0.

Four other singles matches are still pending. In the No. 1 position, #51 Lindsey Nelson is tied with a set apiece versus Cal's #10 Suzi Fodor. Nelson won the first set 7-6 (4) before falling 4-6 in the second. At No. 2 singles, #7 Amanda Fink lost the first set 6-7 and was tied 4-4 at the postponement with #27 Suzi Babos. On court four, #28 Dianne Matias leads Cristina Visico 6-1 with the second set stuck in a tiebreaker at 6-6. Undefeated dual match Trojan Anca Anastasiu fell behind 5-7 in the first set and trails 0-2 in the second.
